The Bend Science Station inspires wonder in young scientists through lab-based experimentation, engaging them to be innovators and successful problem solvers.
The Bend Science Station provides exceptional, laboratory-based science education for Central Oregon students in K- 12th grade and inquiry-based training for their teachers. Through problem solving and collaboration, we engage youth as young scientists, empowering them to be critical thinkers. Last year, we taught 5,000 students from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds from 40 schools across Deschutes County, including Targeted Title I schools and Spanish speaking classrooms. Our student researchers have gone on to win awards and university scholarships for their ground-breaking work. We also provide graduate-level training for teachers, including access to a Science + Technology Lending Library and supported curriculum.
In 2018, we built our own NetZero STEM learning facility which occupies a prominent place on the Oregon State University- Cascades campus.

On Wednesdays during the academic year, we offer 6-week sessions of dynamic, lab-based STEM classes for elementary and middle school students.
Through graduate level training workshops, access to a state-of-the-art equipment lending library, and NGSS curriculum support, we help make science a little easier to teach.
Flying brooms, crime scenes and explosive booms! Summer at the Science Station is not your same old science camp. See you next year!
