Bend Science Station Executive Director and Instructor

David "Bermi" Bermudez received his Bachelor's of Science in Aquatic Biology from Brown University (1990) and has been teaching and designing science curriculum for the past 16 years. He has taught at the following institutions:
1997 - 2002 : Oregon Episcopal School (8th Grade Science)
1993 - 1997 : Sunriver Preparatory School (Kindergarten Science to A.P. Physics)
1992 - 1993 : Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (Marine Science Program)
1992 : Keystone Science School (Discovery Camp)

Bend Science Station Goals:

  • To provide a stimulating environment where students can enhance their studies of science through 
    independent and small group research projects

  • To provide an opportunity for students to work with their peers and enthusiastic scientists to 
    explore the world around them
    and share in the process of discovery

  • To teach students how to use computer interface technology to assist and enhance data collection in their experiments

  • To train teachers how to use computer interface technology to develop laboratories that promote student inquiry

  • To provide tutoring services which incorporate use of the laboratory facilities to reinforce classroom concepts

  • To work with the home school community to provide a customized science curriculum which is taught in a safe laboratory facility
